Recruitment Process - FAQ's

Q: Do you accept CVs?

We require our online Application Form to be completed in full and unfortunately cannot accept CV’s in lieu of information required on the application. However, CV’s can be uploaded to provide additional information to your application. Please ensure that you provide your full employment history from school leaving date to present.

Q: If I am shortlisted for interview, what can I expect?

  • You will receive an email inviting you to attend a selection process which will contain all of the details regarding your specific interview.
  • All roles will include a formal interview and will be conducted by a panel of at least two managers.
  • Depending on the role that you have applied for you may also be observed supporting a group of children in a lesson, asked to plan and deliver a lesson, undertake written/computer based activities or deliver a presentation.
  • The interview process normally lasts between 1.5 and 2 hours, depending on the role that you are being interview for.

Q: What will I be required to provide prior to interview?

Your invite to interview email will contain all of the required details and will request that you provide the following information in good time, usually one week prior to your interview date:

  • Permission details for online searches to be conducted, as required by the Keeping Children Safe in Education document
  • Self-Declaration Form
  • Permission to contact references prior to interview

Q: What will I need to bring to interview?

Specific details will be included in your invite to interview email but as a general guide, we normally require that you bring the following original documents with you to interview;

  • Proof of Right to Work in the UK (eg a Passport or Birth Certificate along with proof of National Insurance Number)
  • Identity Documents that satisfy DBS application requirements (e.g, A current valid passport, Driving License and proof of address, such as a utility bill or bank statement (dated within the last 3 months). Further guidance and a list of alternative acceptable ID can be found by visiting the Government Website  
  • Qualification Certificates (all those relevant to the essential / desirable criteria listed in the job description, including GCSE’s where applicable.
  • Birth Certificate and proof of any name changes, such as marriage certificate, deed poll etc.

Q: If I am successful at interview stage and offered the post, what can I expect?

  • Your offer of employment will be subject to the receipt of satisfactory references, DBS clearance, medical clearance, proof of qualifications, proof of Right to Work in the UK and ID checks. Your recruitment contact will guide you through every step of this process.
  • You will be sent an offer letter via email, containing some Terms and Conditions, including Hours, Working Pattern and Salary information.
  • Your start date will be discussed and a provisional date will be given, however, this date will be subject to the completion of our compliance checks, so please be aware that this could change.
  • Once all compliance checks have been completed satisfactorily then your start date will be confirmed and you will be emailed with a contract of employment.
