Applying for a place at Church Lawton School
Parents
We offer education to young people aged 4 to 19 with a diagnosis of autism, who have been referred by their Local Authority.
Our admissions chart is a step-by-step guide to help you through the process of a Local Authority consultation.
Whether you have already named our school as parental preference at Annual Review, or whether you are concerned that your current school is not meeting your child’s needs and are considering other options, we hope you find this chart useful.

Oversubscription criteria
The school will work collaboratively with all neighbouring Local Authorities to manage consultations. If our school can meet a pupil's needs, we may offer a placement to the Local Authority.
If we have no available places we will notify the Local Authority that although we feel Church Lawton School can meet the pupil's needs, we will need to review this once a place has become available.
Where there are more applicants than spaces available, places will be prioritised according to Church Lawton School's admissions criteria.

If you are working with a child for whom Church Lawton School might be a suitable school, we recommend that you contact us for an initial conversation about the child’s needs and the services we offer.

Open Evenings
Our Open Evenings for Autumn & Spring Term are as follows:
Thursday 15th October 2026 at 4pm and 4.45pm
Our booking system will be live from 1st October.
Both slots will begin with a short presentation by our school Principal, followed by a tour of the school. We have limited spaces available, so tickets will be limited to a maximum of 2 tickets per family.
Thursday 4th February 2027 (Tickets will be available in January)
